چکیده

The electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) of Ru(dp-bpy):+ (dp-bpy = 4,4’-diphenyl-2,2’bipyridine) and Ru(dp-phen):+ (dp-phen = 4,7-diphenyl-l,lO-phenanthroline) in acetonitrile and aqueous solutions was studied. The diphenyl-substituted compounds produced a more intense emission than the nonsubstituted Ru(bpy):+ Ru(dp-phen):+ m acetonitrile. The ECL efficiencies, dECL, of Ru(dp-bpy):+ and were estimated as 14% and 24% respectively. Similar results were obtained in aqueous solutions.

Electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) 79. Reductive-oxidation ECL of tris(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) using hydrogen peroxide as a coreactant in pH 7.5 phosphate buffer solution

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) can be used as a coreactant to generate reductive-oxidation ECL of Tris(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(II), Ru(bpy)3 (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), in pH 7.5 phosphate buffer solution (PBS). Although Ru(bpy)3 is adsorbed and precipitated on the electrode upon reduction of Ru(bpy)3 in aqueous solutions, ECL can still be generated and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) e r o...

Electrochemistry and Emission from Adsorbed Monolayers of a Tris(bipyridyl)ruthenium(II)-Based Surfactant on Gold and Tin Oxide Electrodes

Cyclic voltammetric surface waves were found for monolayers of Ru(bpy)Z(bpyY+, where bpy’ is 4-methyl4’-(dodecyl-l-thiol)-2,2’-bipyridine, which spontaneously adsorbs onto conducting substrates (indium tin oxide, polycrystalline gold). On polycrystalline gold, the monolayer, probably attached via the thiol functional group, is oxidized in an aqueous oxalate medium to produce electrogenerated ch...

Considering the chemical energy requirements of the tri-n-propylamine co-reactant pathways for the judicious design of new electrogenerated chemiluminescence detection systems.

The introduction of a 'co-reactant' was a critical step in the evolution of electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) from a laboratory curiosity to a widely utilised detection system. In conjunction with a suitable electrochemiluminophore, the co-reactant enables generation of both the oxidised and reduced precursors to the emitting species at a single electrode potential, under the aqueous con...

Electrogenerated chemiluminescence derivatization reagents for carboxylic acids and amines in high-performance liquid chromatography using tris(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II).

2-(2-Aminoethyl)-1-methylpyrrolidine and N-(3-aminopropyl)pyrrolidine (NAPP) were found to be selective and sensitive derivatization reagents for carboxylic acid by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with electrogenerated chemiluminescence detection using tris(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II). Free fatty acids and ibuprofen were used as model compounds of carboxylic acids, and the deriv...

Electrogenerated chemiluminescence. 68. Detection of sodium ion with a ruthenium(II) complex with crown ether moiety at the 3,3'-positions on the 2,2'-bipyridine ligand.

We show here how a Ru(bpy)2(CE-bpy) complex can be used for the ECL detection of sodium ion in both aqueous and nonaqueous media. Recognition of Na+ by the crown ether moiety in CE-bpy results in a significant increase in the ECL emission intensity of the complex.
